Robert was born in 1898 in Shotts.1  Robert's father was Alexander Campbell McLellan and his mother was Jessie Scott.  His paternal grandparents were John McLellan and Agnes Turner. He had three brothers and a sister, named Agnes, John, Alexander and Jeanie.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 61 on December 24th, 1959 in Springburn.2
