William Martin 
William was born in 1832 in Ayrshire.1 William's father was John Martin and his mother was Margaret Shaw. His maternal grandparents were Robert Shaw and Mary Eaglesham-Smith. He had a brother and six sisters, named Robert, Mary, Isabella, Helen, Susanna, Susanna and Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
