Margaret was born on August 20th, 1799 in Newton-on-Ayr and her baptism took place there on September 1st, 1799.1 2  Margaret's father was Robert Shaw and her mother was Mary Eaglesham-Smith. She had two brothers named William and Thomas.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 68 on December 18th, 1867 in St. Quivox.3
