Jane Martin

Jane was born in 1843 in Newton-on-Ayr.¹ Jane's father was John Martin and her mother was Margaret Shaw. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Shaw and Mary Eaglesham-Smith. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Robert, William, Mary, Isabella, Helen, Susanna and Susanna. She was the youngest of the eight children.
