William Laird

William was born in January 1861 in Paisley.¹² William's father was William Laird and his mother was Mary Edward. His maternal grandparents were Robert Edward and Helen Drummond. He had seven sisters named Helen, Elizabeth, Mary, Jane, Margaret, Robina and Catherine. He was the second youngest of the eight children.
