Euphemia's father was John Kerr and her mother was Eliza Scoular. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Kerr and Euphemia Robertson. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, Robert, John, Elizabeth and Agnes. She was the second youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 84 in 1975 in Perth.
