Margaret was born in 1833 in Shotts.1 2 Margaret's father was Rev George Hill and her mother was Margaret Marshall. Her paternal grandparents were Rev George Hill and Ann Hamilton; her maternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. She had three brothers and four sisters, named George, William, John, Hamilton, Agnes, Anne and Anne. She died at the age of 97 in 1930 in Bothwell.- Death Notes
