George was born on March 8th, 1895 in Figart.1  George's father was Robert John Gibson and his mother was Mary Ann Price.  His paternal grandparents were John Gibson and Eliza Jane Wray. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, Samuel, Henry, Arthur, Ramsay, Campbell, Robert, John, Sophia, Eva and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
