Margaret's father was William Galt and her mother was Ann Henry. Her paternal grandparents were William Galt and Margaret Towers. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, Thomas and Ann. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 83 on February 22nd, 1985 in Vancouver. She was buried.³¹
