Jane's father was Alexander Fraser and her mother was Isabella Adam. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Fraser and Helen Hamilton. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Alexander, John, Maggie, Helen, Isabella, Jessie and Mary. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 87 in 1953 in Busby.
