David's father was Robert Dick and his mother was Margaret Brash.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Dick and Janet Smeal; his maternal grandparents were David Brash and Agnes Henderson. He had a brother named Robert.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Andrew, Margaret and Janet.  He died at the age of 79 on September 9th, 1925 in Surrey.  He was buried in Woking.^3 1 1
