Andrew's father was Robert Dick and his mother was Agnes Spiers.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Dick and Janet Smeal. He had two sisters named Margaret and Janet.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers named Robert and David.  He died at the age of 69 on April 22nd, 1923 in New South Wales.
