Elizabeth (Bessie) Boyd 
Elizabeth, known as Bessie, was born in 1886 in Ayrshire.1 2 Bessie's father was Thomas Boyd and her mother was Williamina (Minnie) Robertson. Her maternal grandparents were George Robertson and Martha Carlton McGloughlane. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, Hugh, George, Thomas, Martha, Mary and Catherine. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
