Margaret's father was Thomas Bone and her mother was Janet Mcgrigor.  Her paternal grandparents were David Bone and Margaret Smith. She had five brothers and two sisters, named David, Thomas, William, Daniel, Thomas, Flora and Janet.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 95 in 1928 in Govan.
