Margaret was born in 1904 in Renfrew.1  Margaret's father was Adam Aitken and her mother was Mary Ann Lafferty.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Lafferty and Margaret French. She had two sisters named Jeanie and Flora.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 64 in 1968 in Paisley.
