Jeanie was born in 1906 in Renfrew.1  Jeanie's father was Adam Aitken and her mother was Mary Ann Lafferty.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Lafferty and Margaret French. She had two sisters named Margaret and Flora.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 75 in 1981 in Paisley.
