Marshall Howe was born in 1809.  Marshall Howe's father was Nicholas of Totterdown Hill Taliaferro and his mother was Frances Blasingame.  His paternal grandparents were Hay Taliaferro and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were James Blasingame and Mary. He had four brothers and a sister, named Carr Blasingame, Lawrence Washington, James Hay, Nicholas and Ann Patterson.  He was the youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John Champe, Mary Willis, George Catlett, William Thornton and Matilda Battaile.
