Ann Patterson was born in 1802.  Ann Patterson's father was Nicholas of Totterdown Hill Taliaferro and her mother was Frances Blasingame.  Her paternal grandparents were Hay Taliaferro and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were James Blasingame and Mary. She had five brothers named Carr Blasingame, Lawrence Washington, James Hay, Nicholas and Marshall Howe.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John Champe, Mary Willis, George Catlett, William Thornton and Matilda Battaile.
