Benoni was born on December 22nd, 1757.  Benoni's father is Thomas Swearingen and his mother is Sarah Morgan.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Van Swearingen and Lydia Jane Riley; his maternal grandparents are Richard Morgan and Jane Taylor. He had five brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Thomas, Van, Andrew, Joseph and Drucilla.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 40 on March 30th, 1798 in Washington Co, MD.
