Thomas was born on May 31st, 1796 in Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA.  Thomas' father was Peter Marshall II and his mother was Rachel Overfield.  His paternal grandparents were Edward the Walker Marshall and Elizabeth Meaze Weiser. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James Van Camp, John, Edward, Elizabeth, Sarah and Amy Ann.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John, Elizabeth and Rebecca.  He died at the age of 2 on August 21st, 1798 in Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA.
