James Van Camp was born on January 19th, 1781 in Tinicum Twp, Bucks Co, PA.  James Van Camp's father was Peter Marshall II and his mother was Rachel Overfield.  His paternal grandparents were Edward the Walker Marshall and Elizabeth Meaze Weiser. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Edward, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah and Amy Ann.  He was the oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John, Elizabeth and Rebecca.  He died at the age of 77 on September 14th, 1858 in Hepburn Twp, Lycoming Co, PA.
