Sarah W was born on October 1st, 1789 in Little Cub Creek, Charlotte, Virginia.  Sarah W's father was Benjamin Wilkins Marshall and her mother was Sarah Pulliam.  Her paternal grandparents were John Wilkins Marshall Sr and Hannah Baldwin; her maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John Henry, James Pulliam Pullam, Benjamin Wilkins, Thomas Rawlings, Presley, Elizabeth Rawlings, Hannah B and Catherine Wallace.  She is the fourth oldest of the nine children.
