Presley was born on March 19th, 1800 in Little Cub Creek, Charlotte, Virginia.  Presley's father was Benjamin Wilkins Marshall and his mother was Sarah Pulliam.  His paternal grandparents were John Wilkins Marshall Sr and Hannah Baldwin; his maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John Henry, James Pulliam Pullam, Benjamin Wilkins, Thomas Rawlings, Elizabeth Rawlings, Hannah B, Sarah W and Catherine Wallace.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 27 in July 1827 in Charlotte County, Virginia.
