Maj. John (murdered by his slaves) Lewis

John was born on September 14th, 1746 in Augusta Co., Va. John's father was Gen. Andrew Lewis and his mother was Elizabeth Givens. His paternal grandparents were John pioneer Lewis and Margaret Lynn; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Givens and Sarah Cathey. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Andrew, William, Ann and Charles. He was the oldest of the seven children.
