Thomas Gowen was born on May 26th, 1811.  Thomas Gowen's father was John Goin and his mother was Agnes Wilson.  His paternal grandparents were Pvt Joseph Goin and Judith Pollard. He had three brothers named John, Jesse and Pollard.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 35 on February 12th, 1847.
