Gov William Blount

William was born in 1749 in Bertie NC. William's father was Capt Jacob Blount and his mother was Barbara Gray. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Blount, Jr and Ann Elizabeth Reading; his maternal grandparents are John Gray and Ann Bryan. He had five brothers named John Gray, Reading, Thomas, Thomas and Jacob. He was the oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers named Wiley Wylie and Sharpe. He died at the age of 51 in 1800.
