Sarah was born about 1697 in Henrico Co, VA. Sarah's father was Edward Stratton II and her mother was Martha Shippey Jr. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Stratton I and Elizabeth Thurston; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Shippey II and Martha Browne. She had a brother and five sisters, named Edward, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Anne and Prudence. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She died in 1825 in Prince George Co, Va. She was buried in Prince George Co, Va.General Notes
