Henri (The Liberal) de Champagne I (Henry of Champagne) 
Henri, known as The Liberal, was born in 1126 in Champagne, France.1 The Liberal's father was Count of Blois and Champagne Theobald (The Great) of Blois III and his mother was Maud de Carinthia. His paternal grandparents were Count Stephen (The Sage) Henry of Blois II and Adelidis (Alice) of England; his maternal grandparents were Duke of Carinthia Engelbert von Sponheim II and Uta von Passau. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Theobald, Stephen, White Hands, Isabelle, Marie, Agnes, Adele, Mathilde and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 54 on March 16th, 1180.2 -
