Howard Arthur was born on May 22nd, 1899 in Person Co, NC. Howard Arthur's father was James Ruffin Yarbrough and his mother was Frances 'Fannie' Gentry. His paternal grandparents were Thomas 'Tom' Yarbrough and Sarah Ann Rhew. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Bedy F., James F., Johnny Pat, Ruby Ruffin, Effie H. and Susan. He had a half-brother named Otis Francis. He died at the age of 62 on March 2nd, 1962 in Roxboro, Person Co, NC.
