Rachel Melvina was born in 1820 in LaRue County, KY.

Birth Notes

Rachel Melvina's father was Marshall SCOTT and her mother was Nancy READ. Her paternal grandparents were James Scott and Elenor PREECE (PRICE). She had five brothers and three sisters, named James W, John L, Sirus Reed (Cyrus), Milton David, Philip Reed, Margarett "Mary" J, Lydia E and Lucretia. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 28 in 1848 in LaRue County, KY.¹
