James Roberts 
James was born in 1765 in Surry County, North Carolina.1 James' father was John Roberts and his mother was UNKNOWN Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were John Roberts II and UNKNOWN Elizabeth. He had seven brothers and a sister, named John, Sr, Franky, Joshua, Jonathan, Pleasant B, George W, Jeremiah and Patsy. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 68 in 1833.1 General Notes
