Pappia was born in 0980 in Normandy, France.1 Pappia's father was Duke of Normandy Richard (San Peur, The Fearless) Normandy I and her mother was Papia de Normandy. Her paternal grandparents were Duke Guillaume I (Longue Epaee) Normandy and Sprote Adela de Senlis; her maternal grandparents were King of Haithabu Ragnald Swenosson and Duchess Gerletta of Normandy. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Geoffroy, William, Sprota, Fredesende, Muriella and Hawise. She was the youngest of the seven children.
