Henry Joe was born on February 23rd, 1894 in Davie, North Carolina.1 Henry Joe's father was Robert Lee McDaniel and his mother was Angeline Foster. His maternal grandparents were James Foster and Mary Baxley. He had seven brothers and seven sisters, named Zachary L., Thomas Edward, Charles Baxter, Alexander Franklin, Alex S, Isaac Ray, Robert Lee, Fallie Bell, Lola Odell, Lillie Mae, Bertha Lee, Zona Mertia, Mertie I and Rosa Bell. He was the third oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 24 on November 8th, 1918 in France, Military and Naval Forces, USA.-
