Bertha Lee was born on September 12th, 1901 in Davie, North Carolina.1 Bertha Lee's father was Robert Lee McDaniel and her mother was Angeline Foster. Her maternal grandparents were James Foster and Mary Baxley. She had eight brothers and six sisters, named Zachary L., Henry Joe, Thomas Edward, Charles Baxter, Alexander Franklin, Alex S, Isaac Ray, Robert Lee, Fallie Bell, Lola Odell, Lillie Mae, Zona Mertia, Mertie I and Rosa Bell. She was the eighth oldest of the fifteen children. She died at the age of 81 on May 21st, 1983 in White Salmon, Klickitat, Washington.-
