William was born about 1731 in PA.  William's father was John Kerr and his mother was Lucy Pickens.  His paternal grandparents were James Kerr and Martha Ball. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named Andrew, James, Jane, Barbara, Lucy, Martha, Isabella, Elizabeth, Letitia, Margaret and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died after 1768 in Holstein River area ?.
