Margaret was born about August 1747 in Augusta Co, VA. Margaret's father was John Kerr and her mother was Lucy Pickens.  Her paternal grandparents were James Kerr and Martha Ball. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Andrew, William, James, Jane, Barbara, Lucy, Martha, Isabella, Elizabeth, Letitia and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the twelve children.  She died in 1836 in Coles Co, IL.
