John Melvin Higgs 
John Melvin was born on June 15th, 1885 in McLean Co, KY and his baptism took place in Draft Registration. John Melvin's father was Moody C. Higgs and his mother was Nancy Jane Decker. His maternal grandparents were Valentine Decker and Louisa Cockriel. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Victor 'Val' T., James Monroe, Robert Emmitt, John Lemuel, Emily 'Emma' J., Lucinda, Elizabeth, Lula and Golda Mae. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 68 on May 15th, 1954 in Calhoun, Mclean Co, KY.General Notes
