Lester Charlie "Chief" CLEMENT 
Lester Charlie "Chief" was born on May 15th, 1927 in Macomb, Pottawatomie Co. OK. Lester Charlie "Chief"'s father was Charlie Monroe CLEMENT and his mother was Stella Blackburn BURDEN. His paternal grandparents were William CLEMENT and Etheldra THOMPSON. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William Lowell Lee, Churchill, Lelan Forrest, Billy Cordell, Arie Etheldra, Lena Ellen, Stella Bessie and Ruby Annamae. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 68 on June 27th, 1995 in Lawton, Comanche Co OK. He was buried in Ft. Sill Cemetery, Lawton, Comanche Co OK.General Notes
Chief was a career Army man. He retired after 30 years of Military Service. He received his draft notice the day Japan surrendered in WWII, just a few months after his graduation from high school. His first assignment was in the American occupied sector of Germany. It was there that he met and married Lance Schnurrer. Chief and Lance lived on many different military bases, but it was when he was assigned to Fort Sill Army Base, Lawton, Oklahoma, that he felt he had finally come home.
