Billy Cordell CLEMENT 
Billy Cordell was born on April 25th, 1925 in Macomb, Pottawatomie Co. OK. Billy Cordell's father was Charlie Monroe CLEMENT and his mother was Stella Blackburn BURDEN. His paternal grandparents were William CLEMENT and Etheldra THOMPSON. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William Lowell Lee, Churchill, Lelan Forrest, Lester Charlie "Chief", Arie Etheldra, Lena Ellen, Stella Bessie and Ruby Annamae. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 56 on December 3rd, 1981 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was buried in Prairie View Cemetery, Macomb, Pottawatomie Co OK.General Notes
Bill was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He left for the army along with his best friend, Douglas McGehee, and they served along side each other throughout the war. They were side by side the day Douglas stepped on a land mine and his legs were blown off. Bill was unharmed in that incident physically, but mentally, he was haunted by the horror of what happened to his best friend.
Bill worked many years for Southwestern BellTelephone in Shawnee.
