John Mann was born on February 18th, 1826 in Clark Co, KY.. John Mann's father was Henry BROWNING and his mother was Maria FIELDS. His paternal grandparents were Toliver (Toliver) and Mary BROWNING. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, William Tolliver, Franklin, James F., Polly, Elizabeth and Nancy Ann. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Fenton Taylor, Charles Eugene, Maria Francis, Isabella and Matilda.-
