John Irby 
John was born in 1520 in Whaplode, Lincolnshire, England. John's father was Anthony Irby and his mother was Alice Bountayne. His paternal grandparents are Robert Irby and Joan Thimblely; his maternal grandfather is John Bountayne. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Leonard, Edmund, Kenelm, Giles, Edward, Margaret, Catherine, Jane, Rose and Dorothy. He was the second oldest of the twelve children.
