William Borthwick 
William was born in 1459 in Borthwick, Midlothian, Scotland. William's father was William Borthwick and his mother was Mariota De Hopepringle. His paternal grandfather was William Borthwick; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Hopringill and Margaret Turnbull. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Adam, Alexander, Margaret, Agnes, Christine, Mary and Catherine. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 54 on September 9th, 1513 in Flodden Field, Northumberland, England.General Notes
