James Leon Whitney 
James Leon was born on June 4th, 1893 in Caton, Steuben, New York. James Leon's father was James Lewis Whitney and his mother was Flora A Chase. His maternal grandparents were Levi Solomon Chase and Minerva A Fenton. He had five brothers and a sister, named Jefferson Lewis, Leslie Abram, DeForest B, William Cowen, Oliver Wilkinson and Mabel Grace May. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 58 on January 10th, 1952 in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.-
