Moses was born on January 19th, 1790 in Candia, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Moses' father was Theophilus Sargent and his mother is Ruth Rowe. His paternal grandfather was Theophilus Sargent and his paternal grandmother is Lydia Mitchell. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John, Theophilus, Sally, Betsey, Judith, Lydia and Polly. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died in Montville, Maine.-
