Bertha Fern was born on November 3rd, 1893 in Bridgewater, Williams County, Ohio. Bertha Fern's father was Ellsworth Ervin Hillard and her mother was Mary Frances Benner. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Hillard and Elizabeth E. Bailey. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Wilbur Raymond, Ernest G., Edna Mary and Blanch Elma. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 82 on May 17th, 1976 in Montpelier, Williams County, Ohio.-
