Philander Colby 
Philander was born on March 24th, 1812 in , , Vermont. Philander's father was David Colby and his mother is Sarah Farrington. His paternal grandparents are Jacob Colby and Anne Miller. He had five brothers and a sister, named Ebenezer, Charles Bostich, Jacob, Daniel, Farnum and Mehitable. He was the youngest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers named David, William and Amos. He died at the age of 83 on September 26th, 1895 in Dumont, Butler, Iowa.-
