Isabel was born on November 8th, 1226 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.  Isabel's father was Gilbert De Clare and her mother was Isabel Mareschal.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Clare and Amice Fitzrobert; her maternal grandmother is UNKNOWN UNKNOWN. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Richard, William, Gilbert, Joan, Maud, Susan, Amica, Adeliza and Agnes.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Henry, Nicholas and Isabella.  She died at the age of 45 in 1271.


Isabel's family with Robert "The Competitor" Bruce

‌Isabel and Robert "The Competitor" were married in a religious ceremony in May 1240 in Scotland.  They had five sons and two daughters, named Bernard, William, Richard, John, Robert, Christiana and Alosia.
