Benjamin was born on February 2nd, 1644 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, USA.1   Benjamin's father was Simon Hoyt and his mother was Susanna Smith.  His maternal grandparents were Richard Smith and Rebecca Buswell. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named John, Walter, Thomas, William, Joshua, Samuel, Agnes, Hanna, Mary, Deborah, Miriam, Sarah and Miriam.  He was the fourth youngest of the fourteen children. He had seven half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Moses, John, Edward, Thomas, Oliver, Samuel, Elias, Mary, Abigail, Anna, Hannah and Salice.  He died at the age of 91 on January 26th, 1736 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA.1
