Dilla was born on December 25th, 1805 in Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut. Dilla's father was Elisha Grow and her mother was Lois Palmer. Her maternal grandparents were Abel Palmer and Lois Palmer. She has ten brothers and six sisters, named Stillman Thompson, Elijah, Elisha, John Alonzo, Abel Palmer, William Breed, Thomas, Edward N, Edwin, Waterman Phillips, Lois, Julia, Anne, Sarah Matilda, Olive and Rhoda Bennett. She is the third oldest of the seventeen children.-
