Michael Laskaris 
Michael was born about 1183 in Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey. Michael's father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phokaina). He had six brothers named Manolis, Georgios, Konstantinos IX, Theodore I Lascaris of, Alexios and Isaak. He was the youngest of the seven children.
